Step 5. Verifying import of devices

Last updated on June 23, 2023

Once you have added all devices on your controller, import them and check that import was correct: whether all devices are in Sber Smart Home, were they added to the right homes and rooms, does control work.

In Sber Smart Home, create homes and rooms into which you are about to import wired devices

  1. Install the Salute app on your smartphone and login with the same account credentials you used to get registered in SmartMarket Studio.

  2. In Sber Smart Home, create rooms and homes with the same names that you indicated for the devices in the SberDevices IoT Agent app on your controller. For example:

    • If on your controller you indicated for some of your devices that they are located in the "Flat" home, and for the remaining ones, that they are in the "Summer house" home, create the same homes in Sber Smart Home. Then your devices will be added to the corresponding homes on import.
    • If on your controller you indicated that your devices are in the "Living room", "Bedroom" and "Kitchen" rooms, create the same homes in Sber Smart Home. On import, the devices will be added to the corresponding homes.

The step of creating homes and rooms in Sber Smart Home may be omitted. In that case, your devices will be deployed as follows on import:

  • If there is no Sber Smart Home counterpart for a home on your controller, the devices will be added to the Sber Smart Home you created first. It is called "My Home" by default.
  • If there is no Sber Smart Home counterpart for a room on your controller, your devices will be added to the "No Room Defined" ("Без комнаты") section.

Groups are created automatically: if you indicated one and the same group for several devices on your controller, this group will be created as you import the devices in Sber Smart Home. If there already exists a group of such name in your Sber Smart Home, the devices will be added to it. If the group is named other than in the Russian language, it will not be imported.

Once imported, devices may be moved among homes, rooms, and groups. For more on this, read the Changing the home, room, or group of a device section of User help.

Import and verify devices

  1. In your browser, open the controller management web interface. Then, launch the SberDevices IoT Agent app.

  2. In the right-hand part of the screen, click on Restart (Перезапустить). Wait until the restart finishes – the Online (В сети) status will be displayed on screen.

Following that, the devices will be imported into your Sber Smart HOme and will become visible in the Salute app and on devices with Salute assistants, as well as in SmartMarket Studio.

  3. Open the Salute app and make sure that all devices are displayed in your Sber Smart Home and that are in the right homes and rooms. Try controlling your devices – check if everything works as it should.

In addition, you may also check what kind of a tree of homes, rooms, groups, and devices is received from the SberDevices IoT Agent app on the controller. To do so, in SmartMarket Studio, open the integration project and go to

    Devices
tab. Find your controller and click on the controller line to see the hubs, homes, rooms, groups, and individual devices added on it.

If all has been imported and works correctly, enjoy your Sber Smart Home – your devices are there already. If not – step back to device adding, correct errors in the SberDevices IoT Agent app and re-import.
