Text input block

Last updated on April 10, 2024

English version of the documentation is under development.

The block is used to store the user's response in a variable that can be used in the script.

If the block is added, the assistant addresses the user and waits for an answer. The user can either say the answer or type it on the keyboard of the device. The user's response is saved to a variable.

The data type in the variable is string.

The block contains the following fields:

  • Message. The text of the message that the assistant will say and show in the chat. The default text is " Enter text".
  • Name of the variable. The name of the variable to which the user's response will be saved. The default name is text. The name can only contain digits from 0 to 9, upper and lower case Latin letters (Aa-Zz), and the underscore symbol (_). You can't use JavaScript keywords in variables.

The presence of the block does not affect the assistant's reaction to the user's response. Use the Intents block to create a reaction to the response.
